We had
Dany's (mummy's cousin) wedding in
Gaspésie this weekend, but with daddy in New Zealand mummy was thinking of cancelling (she couldn't imagine driving 6-7 hours with us two in the car) but
Magali, mummy's cousin, was nice enough to offer her help and jumped in the car with us. I had so much fun... it sure was a long drive for such a short trip but it was totally worth the effort. We left Friday mid-day and came back late Sunday. Mummy had told me about
Gaspésie and how much she loves it over there. It is a very special place for her as her mummy and daddy were both born and raise in
Gaspésie and I think she feels it is also her hometown even though she wasn't born there.
Gaspésie is the peninsula on the far east of
Québec. Most of family have now moved to or around
Montréal but she still has an
aunty whom lives in
Métis. She now lives in mummy's deceased grand-father's house which is right on the sea, well we call it the sea because at this height it is salt water but really it is the St-Laurent river. Mummy spent a lot of time over there when she was a child, in fact she keeps the best summer memories of that place. As a matter of fact pappie also spent a lot of time there as he was raised on this very loat of land except it was in the old house which burned a few years ago.
Here's Derek and I. Derek is mummy's cousin's son...

This is one of the thing mummy loves about
Gaspésie... the family reunions, with lots of talking about the old days!

I really enjoyed the big spaces and the freedom, it felt a little bit like New Zealand!

I am now known as the cheese sticks lover... You know these orange puffy crisp? Yum, my favorite!

Dany, Kim and their two kids...

Photography is now my
favorite hubby. I took this picture of mummy...

And this one of Alexandre...

Magali and Georgia...

This is Delphine in Sarah's arms...

And Caleb... They both look a lot like their father
Dany.

Sally really enjoyed holding
Georgia and got a lot of smiles off her!

Still taking
pictures...
